"This legendary giant from Minamishimabara City is said to have created farmland for the local citizens by using his enormous hoe to cut down the mountains, and helped the people with their farming. Locals affectionately call him “Misogoro-don” because miso is his favorite food.
Two Misogoro statues can be found in the Nishiarie Town Sukawa Shopping District. During the local annual festival known as the “Misogoro Festival,” this area is bustling with people from within and outside the city.
