Seibo Park/Seibo Memorial Museum

Museum
Seibo Park was opened in 1979 with the assistance of local residents and people all over Japan, as well as the generosity of the late Seibo Kitamura, to exhibit Seibo's works in his hometown.
13 of Seibo's works are exhibited outdoors, with another 60 works (including his sculptures, calligraphy, and paintings) displayed in the Seibo Memorial Museum, where Seibo was born, to allow visitors to retrace Seibo's artistic trajectory. Nestled in a peaceful farming village, the museum is located in a scenic spot that offers wonderful views of the Ariake Sea, the Amakusa islands, and the Hara Castle ruins, a National Historic Site famous for the Shimabara Rebellion. You can enjoy Seibo's works in a place that can be said to be the origin of his art, where his craft was nurtured and developed.
Other iconic works of Seibo can also be found in other major locations throughout the city, allowing you to feel close to Seibo's art no matter where you are.
